Chrysler Dealership
After one final model year in 2020, Dodge ended the 12-year history of the Grand Caravan, now specializing in sporty, high-powered cars. Fortunately, it was only a farewell: from now on, the best-selling minivan in the country will be called the Chrysler Grand Caravan, exclusively in Canada. It will feature all the key characteristics of the original Grand Caravan, including a spacious interior and family-friendly features. Stouffville Chrysler, located near Markham and Richmond Hill, presents the 2021 new Chrysler Grand Caravan, which will be launched as early as this year.
A Classic Reinvented
In its Chrysler version, the Grand Caravan is somehow the Canadian equivalent of the American Voyager, with which it shares a lot. However, since the Grand Caravan is highly appreciated and popular among Canadians, the name has been retained, given their very close kinship. With room for seven to eight-passenger seating, large storage space and all the amenities offered, the vehicle retains its main assets.
On the powertrain side, the 3.6 L V6 engine continues to deliver a generous 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. One of Chrysler's new additions, however, is an automatic transmission that has been upgraded from a 6-speed to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which improves fuel economy with an estimated average fuel consumption of 8.4 L/100 km.
The Grand Caravan will be offered in two trim levels, the Base model and the SXT, while the Canada Value Package has been withdrawn due to its low popularity. The Base version will include the Uconnect System infotainment system with a 7-inch screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard equipment. The optional rear-seat DVD screen will keep rear seat passengers entertained and occupied, young and old alike!
The 3-zone climate control, while optional for the Base model, is standard on the SXT version, which is slightly more upscale than the first one. The 17-inch aluminum wheels and 8-way adjustable power front driver's seat are two further upgrades from one version to the next. The Cold Weather Package is also available, including heated front seats and steering wheel for added comfort in winter.
The spacious interior that has earned the Grand Caravan its reputation is also a feature of the new model, giving you all the space you need. Stow 'N Go seats, which fold down and store under the floor of the vehicle, are standard on both versions for the third row and optional for the second row. Optional roof racks and towing capacity are also available, making it the ideal vehicle for travellers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Finally, you can equip your car with the SafetyTec Suite, which incorporates advanced safety features to ensure your peace of mind. These include parking assistance, blind spot detection with cross-traffic alert and forward collision detection. Pedestrian detection and emergency braking are also part of the package, working with you for safe driving.
The van is built on the same platform as the Pacifica and is somewhat like its more affordable and accessible counterpart. However, if you love the Caravan, but more luxury appeals to you, the Pacifica, with its four-wheel drive, might just be the car for you.
The new Chrysler Grand Caravan is therefore a blend of the classic features of the Dodge model and the more modern look of the Pacifica. With a spacious interior that's ideal for large families and for both long trips and daily transportation, the new version is sure to please you.
